The End Justifies the Beans

First they were good for your heart, now comes news that eating beans regularly can cut your risk of breast cancer. In a recent study, Harvard School of Public Health researchers tracked the diets of about 90,000 women and discovered that those who ate beans twice a week or more had a 24 percent lower risk of developing breast cancer compared with women who rarely ate them. Researchers are not exactly sure why beans had this effect, but suspect the cancer-fighting kick lies in the "sum of the flavonols" - powerful nutrients - such as kaempferol, quercetin, and myricetin.
